Dorper sheep are a well known hair sheep (meaning they don't have wool) that are adapted to thrive in arid, low rainfall conditions. They are a fast-growing meat-producing sheep with high fertility and excellent maternal instincts. We believe in quality breeding to maintain the South African breed standard so that this breed can remain a hardy meat sheep with excellent carcass yield.
Our flock is low maintenance and we rotationally graze them in our pasture with supplementation as needed depending on the time of the year. Because we are always providing our sheep with fresh pasture, the need for dewormers is very limited - especially in our Colorado climate. In addition, biosecurity is important to us and we test all incoming sheep for the following diseases B. Ovis, Ovine Progressive Pneumonia, and Jhones to keep our flock clean and ensure that our outgoing sheep do not have any of these disease.
Spring 2027 Lambing Date To Be Announced
We will also occasionally have meat from these sheep for sale either via whole, half, or specific cuts of lamb. If available, this will be posted on our website.
Contact us to come meet our flock and see if we have a dorper sheep that meets what you're looking for!
